"B-but what do you need to ask him?"

"I DON'T I JUST NEED HIM HERE!!!" she sobbed harder.

Seraphyna wanted to help Ivie, but she didn't want to bother Manfred again. She was surprised to find tears leaking from her own eyes, but then again, it wasn't a surprise, not really. She didn't like it when people yelled at her and she always found herself crying.

Bowing her head and clasping her hands to her mouth, she cried, "I-I'm sorry But I just c-can't!"

"Why?"

"Be-because Manfred already gave me detention and I-I don't want to trouble him anymore..."

The pain ended and Ivie gave a sigh of relief.
"I don't need him n-now, I'm fine."

Seraphyna was still visibly shaken. She tried her best to calm herself down but she started to hyperventilate. Her knees weakened and she fell to the floor, hand on her heaving chest as she took several gasping breaths.

"I-I'm s-s-s-orry!" she gasped between her tear-stained fingers. She could taste the saltiness of her own tears and she snapped her mouth shut. Despite her best efforst, her shoulders shook violently and she suddenly felt the need to faint.

Jessie knelt down beside Seraphyna "Calm down, Sara," she said gently, running her fingers through her hair "You haven't done anything, Ivie's okay now, and you tried, if anything, Ivie should be the one who's sorry for trying to push you so hard."

"I wasn't pushing her!" yelled Ivie.

"You were," Jessie said very firmly. "If you needed Manfred that desperately than it wouldn't have killed you to get him yourself. Maybe it would have hurt, yes, but it wasn't poor Sara''s responsibility to get you whatever and whoever you think you need, do you not see her crying? You're being selfish."

"I'm not being selfish!"

"You are, and you need to stop it right now."

"S-s-s-top it, you guys!" Seraphyna hiccuped. "P-p-please d-don't fight!"

Jessie stopped.

"Sorry.." she muttered. "I was just trying to help..."

Seraphyna started tp hiccup as she sobbed. If only she could stop her crying, but she never learned how to stop immediately. Normally, she'd let them flow until she couldn't cry anymore, but that would take hours at the very least.

"Sera, it's alright, " she hugged her, and stroked her hair, "You don't need to cry, it's alright."

Something about Jessie's words soothed her. Had anyone ever comforted her before? Had anyone cared?

Seraphyna sniffled, clenching her teeth. Her sobs quieted but she still shook.

"You don't need to be upset," she ccontinued, gently.

Seraphyna sniffed a couple of more times, taking several deeps breaths. Eventually, she calmed down enough to maintain a steady heartbeat. Her tears ceased to roll and she wiped off the last remaining tears ith the back of her hand.

"Thank you," she whispered.

"You're welcome," Jessie hugged her.

It was rare to smile right after sobbing, but Seraphyna allowed the tiniest trace of a smile tug at her lips.

"You don't get out much, do you?" Jessie asked.

Seraphyna shook her head. "I-I'm not usually allowed to by myself," she whispered. "Mother won't allow it."

"Why not?" jessie frowned "That could mess up your social skills big time, her doing that."

Seraphyna's bottom lip quivered. "Mother does not allow me out of the house unless it's necessary. I've no friends...I spent my life in isolation."

"That's not true, you have one friend, and he name is Jessie Brooklyn," Jessie hugged her.

Seraphyna wasn't sure if she could call this girl a friend yet. She just met her but she seemed friendly enough. But Ivie had also been friendly to her and now she had turned on her. Could Jessie be trusted? She wasn't sure, but it would be rude to think otherwise and so she accepted Jessie as a friend of hers.

"Thank you," she whispered.

"You're welcome," Jessie was quite a bit more trustworthy than Ivie, if she decided she was friends with someone she would be loyal to them until she died. "If your mum would allow it.. maybe I could take you into town sometime?" she suggested.
